looking past headless

Last year I posted a piece on if:book about a mysterious meeting I attended in Tower 42 at Liverpool St, where I joined a documentary filmmaker, a curator, a lawyer and several others in discussing disappearance, Bataille, and an offshore company called Headless. Though it was part of a project by Swedish artists Goldin+Senneby, they weren’t there. They’d disappeared.

Since then, there have been documentary films, several articles, a talk by human geographer Angus Cameron, an 8-part short story and some cease and desist notices. The picture has now changed - Headless is owned by a different company, and new strands have emerged. Later this month, I will be flying to Dubai and then Hong Kong to spend some time with Howard Bilton, art collector, wine enthusiast, and head of the Sovereign Trust (which managed, but no longer manages, Headless). I’m not sure yet what will happen, or even if the whole thing is a game. More to follow.
