about this blog
I’m interested in what it means to write, what the written word does these days, and what it means to engage in stories that are relevant to how we live our lives today. That’s a pretty wide field, but breaks down a bit like this:
Online communities: what is happening in online communities, what constitutes good practice, what does it mean to be involved in online communities?
The future of the book: is it really all about e-readers? If not (just) that, then what? If the codex is going to survive (albeit in a radically altered publishing culture) what other possibilities are out there beyond? I’m interested in pervasive gaming, web2.0 storytelling, cross-platform narratives, collaborative storytelling, the re-emergence of mythology and new publishing models.
Telling stories: Sometimes I write my own stuff, sometimes I come across stuff others have written. If I think a story worth a look (whether it’s digital or not), I’ll post about it here.
Obviously sometimes too I just post about something I saw that made me laugh.
I write about events, happenings, groups and ideas that interest me, across bits of London’s arty landscape that generally don’t make it into galleries, over at the Arthouseparty blog.
